The first French school opened in Jakarta In 1967. Today, 400 students, citizens of over 15 countries, are registered at the French International School (Lycee international français – LIF) Louis-Charles Damais, from kindergarten to grade 12 (French baccalaureate). FRAMEWORK

Pedagogic framework

The Head of the establishment is appointed from France and is assisted by the Director of the Primary School, an Education Counselor, as well as two people responsible for the school documentation and another one in charge of the running of the school library and documentation centre.

The pedagogic team is directly appointed by the French government or recruited locally by the establishment: consisting of 21 Secondary teachers, 9 Elementary and 4 Pre-School teachers, who are assisted by 4 ATSEM, and 1 speech therapist whose task is to help children improve their oral and written work and who also does special needs work with dyslexic and handicapped children.

Administrative framework

The administrative team consists of 3 trilingual secretaries, 2 accountants and one administrator.

Logistic framework

Two nurses are on duty that can diagnose and administer first-aid.
Teachers are given support by assistants in Sciences, Sports and Computer Science. Pre-School teachers also benefit from assistants.
The service staff consists of circa twenty people who ensure maintenance, security, café-restaurant and the liaison with the Embassy.
